Of all the holiday events that are held in Tuscaloosa, there is one that is easily my favorite to attend and photographing. I’m talking about Santacon, which is the annual bar crawl event featuring people dressed up as Santa Claus or other Christmas related characters. If you haven’t seen about 70 Santas walking the streets of Tuscaloosa to spread holiday cheer, you haven’t really seen anything.
The event has grown in size and stature each year, and this year was the first I remember with pretty much everyone in costume. Everywhere we went, people were excited and happy to see us arrive. The last stop of the evening was Egans, where the annual Christmas party was already underway… complete with a visit from another Santa Claus.
