Introductions!

So, umm, hi. I’ve never been good at introductions particularly, but I feel like I have to do one in this case. My name is Trey Irby, and I’m going to write about music for you fine folks at WellThatsCool.com. I used to write for the UA’s dear campus paper The Crimson White among blogging by myself, and that’s where I will now lead to what I’m going to do on this site in the future.

Most of my stuff at the CW that I was most proud of was related to local music. That said, I won’t have to do nearly as much pleading as you guys are already well-versed in how damn good this town is. I’ll pop in a good interview (Blaine Duncan, you listening?) here every once in a while because there’s some smart guys playing music in Tuscaloosa, but I’ll balance that out with more rock critic stuff. That might mean talking about a Frank Ocean record as much as I talk about a Lee Bains III record. I hope it’s even enough for local artists to feel like they’re properly represented, of course. But yeah. I don’t have much else to put on the table just yet, but I would like to put up a video or two of songs I’ve liked over the past few weeks. These are previews of future material I’ll cover in the column, and I’m also happy I can post videos in this format now:
