On Halloween, 2008, the Dexateens traveled out to "Old Bryce", the abandoned Jemison Mental Hospital on the outskirts of their hometown, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in an attempt to conjure up whatever spirits might still lurk there.
They took their guitars, recording equipment, and a handful of songs.
Things did not go according to plan.
Part 1: In which we learn the history of the hospital, the band arrives at the hospital and performs, and plans go awry.

15 years of Pain - New DVD to come out this spring

From 1994 to the year 2000 one of the greatest indie punk rock bands of all time was based in Tuscaloosa: Pain. This is how the band defined themselves:

1. A musical group comprised of six dumb males, one voluptuous female, and a drummer. Lots of horns and lots of good times. A healthy new dose on the old school punk tip with fresh new grooves to widen your smile. 2. Plenty of nice melodies, wrapped around lyrics about kooky kids, lovely girls and people we hate. The guitar is mean, the bass is lean, and the lead vocals are easily understandable. Pain: its music with a wang to it. - Read More for video

In the Land of Women (2007)

For many years I avoided the teenage girl fanfare associated with the Fox network's breakout hit, The OC, which began in 2003 and ran through 2007.  I saw the behind the scene specials all over cable television, the typical tabloid magazine covers displaying what they were wearing or who they were dating, but chose to look the other way --that is until last October.
