Druid City Arts Festival

By eric - Posted on 24 March 2010

From the U of A Creative Campus website, one can learn that their mission is to build a collaborative environment where students can connect with each other, faculty and their community while turning innovative ideas into action.  This weekend, on March 27th to be exact, one such innovative idea is taking place, the Druid City Arts Festival.  Bob's your uncle.  You should, nay... ought to attend.  It's your Tuscaloosa art duty.

The Druid City Arts Festival is a multi-faceted event bringing together the likes of many regional musicians as well as regional artists.  The jollification, which is happening on the old City Fest lot downtown, begins at 2pm and continues on until 9pm.  Did we mention that it's free?  You'll have the chance to peruse the wares of local artisans while enjoying local tunes.  All the while, supporting more than you think.  The arts scene in Tuscaloosa is up and coming and this event is only going to add more fuel to the fire. You'll also be supporting an important cause, the creation of a Tuscaloosa Arts Education Grant.  Need we say more? I suppose we shall.  Starting at 10:00pm, there will be an afterparty.  For only $5, you can get a pass to 5 venues to continue your local music education.  Think of it as a continuing studies program.  So come out and give your support to something that's improving Tuscaloosa!
