Tax Day Tea Party

By scooterkid - Posted on 14 April 2009

Tax time got you down? Well, after you drop that return in the mail or click the eFile button Wednesday, head on over to the University of Alabama Quad to take a bite out of pork at the Tax Day Tea Party.

The local Tea Party is one of many such protests being held across the country on April 15. It is a chance for all taxpayers, regardless of party affiliation, to voice their feelings about the tax burdens being placed on citizens by big-spending government.

Tea Party participants can feast on free Monroe Sausage dogs and – because what else would be appropriate? – iced tea.

Wednesday’s event will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the Northeast corner of the Quad. The Campus Drive parking deck (in front of the Sigma Chi fraternity house) will be opened for free parking at 4:45 pm and buses will be regularly scheduled to take people to the quad (the first stop on their normal route).
