As many know, we at wellthatscool.com organized a concert called the “Tuscaloosa Get Up”. The show featured the Alabama Shakes, the Dexateens and Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires at the Bama Theatre here in Tuscaloosa on Friday March 23rd. The event raised over $26,000 towards building a house for Tuscaloosa Habitat for Humanity. We were lucky enough to have a great board mix from David H. Jones as well as a live mic mix from Matt at patchndent.com (great source for live music from the south) mixed by Shane Lollar at Old Capital studio. We were also very lucky to have Henry Busby and Marcus Tortorici there to record the night. What you see below is a mix of all of the above edited by Henry and Marcus. The Dexateens have been one of our favorite bands for years always on the brink. This show was no different, Matt Patton was stuck in Vancouver, BC, Canada on the morning of the show and yet found his way there. It was one of the most amazing shows we have ever seen.
